Society of the Orthopaedically Handicapped, Malaysia or better known as Persatuan Orang Orang Cacat Anggota Malaysia (POCAM) is a Non-Govermental Organisation (NGO) that has a diverse number of members from various ethnic groups across Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak.
It was first established in 1975 with the aim of forming a dedicated association for individuals with physical limb disabilities—who, at the time, were believed to be the largest group among people with disabilities, yet did not have their own association like the visually impaired, children with disabilities and others who already had their own dedicated organizations.
Following its official registration by the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS) in 1976, the association held its first Biennial General Meeting on 24 April 1977. With that, the official journey of the association began in pursuit of its stated goals and vision.

Beloved Founder
Hugh Richard Myrddin Storey, better known as H.R.M. Storey, founded the Society of the Orthopaedically Handicapped Malaysia—widely recognized as Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Anggota Malaysia (POCAM)—in 1975.
Affectionately referred to as the "Father of the Disabled", Mr. Storey dedicated his life to championing the rights and welfare of individuals with disabilities, drawing from his own experience living with polio that affected both of his legs.
Beyond establishing POCAM, he was also a trailblazer in the Malaysian para-sports scene, playing a pivotal role in forming and leading the nation's first Paralympic powerlifting team to compete on the international stage.
